You may have an empty Amazon Echo at home picking up dust.

Maybe you’ve not had time to set it up, a new buyer, or not sure you saw the benefits of using something like the Alexa to help companion your day? We wanted to share a few ways that you can get things done using Alexa.

Here are a few handy ways to use Alexa, enjoy!

Get your morning news!

There’s nothing better than getting clued up on the news whilst still being able to perform your morning routine. Getting ready can sometimes be a rush, so having Alexa read all of the latest reports before you exit the house is one of the best ways to read your morning news. Try adding some of the major publications to your “Flash Briefing” to get you started.

Your speaker system

Hook your Alexa up to a speaker system or use the Echo device as your speaker. Connect to services like Spotify, Amazon Music, Tunein to stream your music easily. For home use, the speaker system is simple and impressive! And perfect for when you are cooking to skip songs, hands-free.

The to-do list

For both shopping and to-dos, Alexa is there. There have been many situations when you have an idea, thought or even a task to do but you don’t have your laptop open. Alexa to the rescue, simply. Connect to services like Todoist or IFTTT to send your tasks to email or even another to-do service.

Predict the weather

Ask Alexa what the weather will be like. It’s amazing how much accuracy she will give you. Perfect for your adventures of the day, especially if you are planning a full day out and want to avoid any bad weather before it hits!

Connect to your calendar

Get easy access to your calendar using the Google Calendar integration within Alexa. Perfect for scheduling events in the office using your voice only. Very effective and works well for quickly being able to plug in some activities you have going on.

Get Startup News

Getting the Flash Briefing is great! But what if you want to learn about the world of startups?! Enable the “StartUp Signal” on Alexa for regular updates on startups news, perfect for keeping an eye on your competitors.

All very easy to get started with, but can provide massive improvements to your daily routine.
