Birth of a star

A Fistful of Stars — In this interactive journey to witness the birth of a star; the US filmmaker Eliza McNitt’s transports us from the Hubble into the Orion nebula to witness the birth of a star.

No ordinary Painting

I bet you might have seen many paintings in your life but the one below is special.

What’s so special you ask? Well, shockingly it’s entirely hand-coded in HTML and CSS. Check it out here: http://diana-adrianne.com/purecss-francine/

Calm Interfaces — Programmable Droplets

Udayan Umapathi and his team from MIT media labs have created the “Programmable Droplets” system that can use droplets in our environment and program them for information manipulation and human interaction.

Here is a short video for better understanding.

The Programmable Droplets system utilizes the technique of “electrowetting on dielectric” (EWOD). This technique enables a set of primitive operations, such as precisely translating, morphing, merging, and splitting multiple droplets simultaneously.

The last bit of the video is my favourite. It depicts a calmer, more distraction free communication we crave to have in todays world.

Font Map

Typography has always been inspiring. We believe every typeface invokes a particular emotion and that’s why they play a huge role in design. So, when we came across Font map, we were mesmerised. Ideo has created an amazing website using artificial intelligence to surface new relationships across fonts. Here is the link for you all to explore. http://fontmap.ideo.com/

That’s all for this week. Hope you liked it. Here’s the link to the S01E02 of “Well, that’s interesting”
